Yesterday was a day for reflection for most sane people of this country as we all wept for the tragedy that took place in Arizona, for the 9 year old girl who was born on a day of tragedy only to be taken out in a day of violence, for a federal judge who was adored for his actions on the bench and in life, for the many others who were killed of injured for just wanting to take part in a democracy. Yesterday was a day to be non-partisan, to look inward at maybe, just maybe we had to take a step back and turn down the vitriol and rhetoric so that something we say or do does not possibly set off a person who had nothing to lose. Such a sad day it was yesterday as we all had heavy hearts thinking about what these people could have been if they weren’t taken out in such a violent way…….and then this happened;

Huh?  I’m really sorry that I have to say this but this woman is an idiot, Blood Libel? Really?  I mean nobody in their right mind really thought that your little crosshairs over the map stunt really led to the death of the victims in this tragedy but playing the victim here was not the classy thing to do on this day of all days.  How about admitting that the crosshairs thing was in bad taste? That alone would have shown some compassion and would have earned you some respect. Keep digging half term Governor, you are doing a great job of burying yourself without the help from the left that you decry.

After seeing the above video, I knew I was right all along by not supporting the empty suit that is Palin, I knew that the only reason McCain picked her was to get those 18 million votes that never materialized, I knew that supporting an eloquent, smart man instead of the village idot was the right thing to do, and last night he proved me right with this;

These words struck me the hardest when talking about 9 year old Christina Green. ;

I want us to live up to her expectations. I want our democracy to be as good as she imagined it. All of us—we should do everything we can to make sure this country lives up to our children’s expectations.

Compared to the village idiot and her sense of victimization, he said this;

But what we can’t do is use this tragedy as one more occasion to turn on one another. As we discuss these issues, let each of us do so with a good dose of humility. Rather than pointing fingers or assigning blame, let us use this occasion to expand our moral imaginations, to listen to each other more carefully, to sharpen our instincts for empathy, and remind ourselves of all the ways our hopes and dreams are bound together.

The full text of the speech could be found here.

As I listened to the Presidents speech, I couldn’t help but thank God for having this man in office instead of the Angry Old Man and his sidekick the Half Term Governor. Palin should take notes and learn unless she wants to spend the rest of her life working for FAUX News…Which would be ok with me.

God bless the victims and the families of this tragedy and God bless the United States of America.
