BREAKING NEWS: Cain Mutiny – Is He About To Jump Ship?

I’mmmmm Backkkkkkk! After a great summer vacation and a fall away from it all it’s time to get things crackin here at this little blog called Stupid Pumas! With the Rethuglican Primaries just around the corner it’s time to do our part to discredit and uncover the many things that are wrong with today’s Rethuglican candidates. I’m gonna start off slow and easy just to get back into the swing of things and cut and paste other wonderful articles first and as I gain momentum start writing some of my own, as always I will have at my side the wonderful insights of Donna Braz and The Bigotbasher as we head into the 2012 Election. Are you ready to kick some right wing tea party ass? Good, let’s get this party started!

After allegations of a 13 year affair, Herman Cain is “reassessing” his Presidential campaign.

The National Review was part of a five minute conference call this morning. They quote Cain:

“Obviously, you’re all aware of this recent firestorm that hit the news yesterday,” Cain began, his voice somber. “First thing I want to do is say to you what I have said publicly: I deny those charges, unequivocally. Secondly, I have known this lady for a number of years. And thirdly, I have been attempting to help her financially because she was out of work and destitute, desperate. So, thinking that she was a friend — and I have helped many friends — I now know that she wasn’t the friend that I thought she was. But it was a just a friendship relationship.”

“That being said, obviously, this is cause for reassessment,” he continued. “As you know, during the summer we had to make some reassessments based upon our financial situation. We were able to hang in there; we reassessed the situation and kept on going. We also did a reassessment after the Iowa straw poll and we made another reassessment after the Florida straw poll. When the previous two accusations, false accusations, came about, we made another assessment. The way we handled those was, we continued on with our schedule. We made an assessment about what was going to happen to our support. But our supporters, and even some folks that we didn’t have as supporters, they stood with us, and they showed it not only in terms of their verbal support, they showed it in terms of their dollars.”

“Now, with this latest one, we have to do an assessment as to whether or not this is going to create too much of a cloud, in some people’s minds, as to whether or not they would be able to support us going forth,” Cain said.

Politico reports that conservatives are abandoning the Cain campaign over the allegations.

Former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee declared on Fox News that White’s charge was “the most damaging allegation that has been made, to date” about Cain. Fox host Sean Hannity, a prominent Cain booster, said the renewed scandal “chipped away at his likability” and “created doubt in people’s mind whether or not, quote, another shoe will drop.”

Some are saying that Cain would be too big a liability in the same ‘family values’ party that raked Bill Clinton over the coals for infidelity.

I am led to wonder where the latest allegation came from. If the 13 year affair with Atlanta business woman, Ginger White is fact, who prompted her to come forward? Cain’s poll numbers have been suffering a steep and steady decline. He is arguably no threat to anyone, especially to the Democrats. My guess is that the Republican party was quickly tiring of his gaffes and his revolving door of sexual misconduct allegations. It was time to plunge the final knife into the Cain campaign, and they did.

Poor Herman…just a day after releasing your 9-9-9 The Movie. If you do actually call it quits, I think I can speak for the actual liberal media in saying, “We’ll miss you.”
